When should you start driving lessons?

You can start your driving lessons when you are officially 17 years old, however you can apply for your provisional license when you are 15 years and 9 months old. You can find more information on the Gov website.

Many folk don’t want to waste time and begin their lessons as soon as they turn 17 for either personal or commuting reasons, others may leave it for when it only becomes a necessity like a professional job requirement. In my experience I would always recommend getting your license as soon as possible if you’re able to afford it; it is better to have have a license and not need it than to need a license and not have one as this puts a lot of pressure on you to pass your test within a short time period should you ever require it urgently.
